NHS’ Color My World Club Hosts Annual Color Run for Mental Health Awareness

We are excited to announce that the premier mental health awareness club at Northville High School, Color My World, will be hosting this year’s Color Run on September 22nd, 2024, at Northville High School. The event will kick off at 11 AM, promising an exciting day filled with food, drinks, and various activities for all ages.

Color My World was founded several years ago by Annie Heitmeier, a dedicated student who started the club after losing a classmate to suicide. This tragedy strengthened her commitment to creating a group focused on mental health awareness and teen suicide prevention. During the school year, Color My World meets monthly to discuss teen challenges like depression, eating disorders, and balancing academics with extracurricular activities.

In addition to raising awareness, the club actively supports their peers. They distribute self-care packages during stressful test times and have created a safe space called the Zen Den. Here, students can connect with therapy dogs, meditation teachers, yoga instructors, and other professionals who can help transform their perspectives and better prepare them for life’s difficulties. Over the years, Color My World has successfully held 5K Color Runs, raising funds for mental health awareness and suicide prevention.

Please mark your calendars and join us for a vibrant day of running, walking, and celebrating mental health awareness. Feel free to bring your friends and family along to share in the experience. Together, we can continue to make a difference and spread positivity in our community.

Thank you once again for your support. We have attached the link to the registration below and look forward to seeing you on September 22nd for another memorable Color Run!
